The old Hubble telescope floating in orbit has tracked what is thought to be a star or a binary star from 900 million years after the Big Bang. Sounds like a long time but the previous oldest star found was 4.4 billion years after the Big Bang.

Then they tried to fix THAT, and this one also did not work and also added more flaws. And this latest one also broke the fix a third party was able to make.
